Niagara Falls 2024 - We walked to the U.S.
It was a lot of walking but well worth it! The first time either of us has done anything like this and I would totally do it again! Here are a few images from the adventure:
Back in Canada now and Clifton Hill is packed! Dinner at the Skylon Tower Observation deck We walked through Fallsview Casino Can't wait to drive across next time and go exploring in Buffalo, NY. |

It truly was! I'm glad the idea came to mind before the area gets even busier in July - August. Also, it'll be much hotter but thankfully there was no rain either.
The pictures don't do it justice. It was so refreshing to be in an actual park away from the chaotic areas like Clifton Hill on the Canadian side. Quote:
Glad you enjoyed them! Just a day trip this time around but I'll have to check out the local hotels on the U.S. side for an extended stay. |

Thanks! Hopefully you'll have the chance to visit one day. This is easily one of my favourite watches as it checks all the boxes for me so to speak.
Thank you! It certainly was and the memories will be cherished for life. |

Glad you enjoyed viewing them.
Agreed, up until a few years ago I took for granted that we're so close to it. Each visit over the past few years has been unique, with this instance being the most interesting thus far. |

That looks terrific.
Though I'm a surprised by the pics from the Canada side. Thought all the buildings up there were either log cabins or igloos.

Understandably so, and I'm hoping you can also make it there soon. Totally worthwhile in my opinion!

I highly recommend hiking devils hole state park if you make another trip. Afterwards Lewiston is a great little village to wander around for food and drinks. Niagara Falls the city leaves much to be desired and I think a lot of tourists aren’t sure where to go. Similar to Niagara Falls Ontario I would recommend anyone visiting check out Niagara on the lake for a more laid back authentic (less commercialized) experience with wineries and shops etc.

Great pictures Rommell! Brings back a lot of good memories. My wife grew up in Niagara Falls, NY and her and her brother used to ride their bikes over the Rainbow Bridge to play on the Canadian side. I met her while working in downtown Niagara Falls, NY in the early '80's. My office was 3 blocks from the Falls. I could see the mist in the sky from the view out my window. We would walk Goat Island all the time and spent many wonderful times up in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. In my teen years we would spend a lot of time swimming along the river at Dufferin Islands Nature Park just upriver from the Falls on the Canadian side. I graduated from Niagara University in the '70's which is located downriver from the Falls just below the village of Lewiston, NY and got to explore the whole area while living on campus.
It's hard to believe that was 40 years ago and our most recent memories are pre-2000. We don't live up there anymore and haven't visited since 2012 but hope to return in the upcoming year for another memory filled visit. Thanks for posting!! |

If the plans to book a cruise get deferred to next year I'll certainly consider driving across to take this in. Quote:
It'll be rather nostalgic for the two of you to return and be reminded of all those fond memories. |
