Got the call for a Day Date and want to use this opportunity to downsize. What would

Picking up this bad boy on Wednesday. After a few years of intense collecting I’ve decided to downsize the collection a bit. What would you sell to hit the $44k price rage of the new watch?

I’d also shift a GMT too. Effectively I’d be looking to move one from each circled section below…

I would keep only one of the two Seamasters, one of the GMTs, and one or two of the Speedys. Also, keep either the Explorer or the Airking and let the other go.

Get rid of the NTTD Seamaster, the Seamaster 300, the Rootbeer (since you already are adding a gold piece; also easier to replace than the batman), the Air King, the two tone datejust (overlap with the Day Date) and one white speedy (you don't need two). That should get you there. 6 watches for 1 but it's worth it.

This, but the 60th ani seamaster, Cartier instead of Airking, or/and perhaps the moonshine gold speedy.

What I’d keep

GMT BLNR

Santos
Exp 40

For me I’d get rid of the Daytona sure it’s different to the others in your collection but just not one that does it for me plus the Air King and maybe a seamaster

I would dump the three Omegas top left, the sub, the 2 steel gmts, the 2 tone datejust, the air king, and the last speedy on the right with the white dial.

On the chopping block for me:

Either the BLNR or Rootbeer has to go, pick one.

The Datejust is also leaving.

Bye bye TT Daytona, Omega Speedmaster reign supreme around here.

Say goodbye to that Airking.

Finally, 7 Omegas is 3 too many, pick your best 4 and ditch the rest.

Thats 7 watches I've unloaded for you! Easy work...

I would go out on a limb here

You could lose ten and still have a great collection when you add the DD

Keep:

BLNR
AirKing
Daytona
Submariner
DJ (no risk of overlap for a dressy watch, as DD is something else)

For me the DJ is redundant to the DD. I'd personally let a GMT go. I can see keeping both the AK and Exp for three handers. I'd go down to one Omega chrono and likely no Omega divers.

All of your left hand cases except the NTTD Seamaster. Keep the right hand side and add the DD.

TT Datejust, Air King, one or two Seamasters, one or two Speedmasters, and one of the GMTs or TT Daytona.
That's a great looking Day Date by the way! The champagne dial with deconstructed romans is a great look. Congrats in advance!

If you aren’t married to any of your existing collection, I’d move the pieces that will get you the most money in return. For me that’d be:

Snoopy, BLNR, Daytona, white dial Speedmaster, you may need to throw in a couple more to reach $44,000.

Congratulations in advance on the Day Date

Keep the ND Sub and maybe the GMTs. The rest is expendable

This.

And definitely don’t sell the Moonshine speedy. There’s something special about a PM Speedy (or any Speedy really).

This is what I'd do. Maybe one of the AK/Exp 1 if you're short.

All gold Speedy, two tone Datejust, bimetal GMT, Air King, and a Seamaster. Pick up a SS Datejust later, (mint green or blue).

Nice set of watches.

If you insist on downsizing, then I’d drop:

* Seamaster 300
* Seamaster NTTD
* BLNR
* Explorer
* TT DJ
* Moonwatch

- Seamaster 300
- Airking
- Explorer
- TT Datejust
- white dial Speedy
- black steel Speedy
- NTTD Seamaster

No idea how much that is but good downsize and a decent chunk towards it.

Sell:
Everything without an "r" in the brand name.

Then...
Enjoy the DD and begin looking for a Patek Philippe.

Keep: No Date, BLNR, whichever white face speedy you like best (Snoopy3 or white). Add DD and then get something like an AC/PC on leather.
