Ordering Jubilee/Oyster

Have seen a few recent questions around ordering an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet for a GMT so thought I’d share my experience. Am in the UK and my AD has let me order a Jubilee bracelet for my 2024 BLNR Oyster. Shouldn’t take more than 2 weeks to arrive. Will post updates

Are they still asking for the money upfront, OP? Or a deposit?

Typical. I miss the old days of the real Rolex "luxury" experience. I get it - it's just business. But man... back in the day things were different.

The market may turn some day, and ADs may have to earn your business the "old fashioned" way.

Mine started on Oyster and ended up on Jubilee via the London RSC. To my eyes and for wearing comfort it's much better, and it evokes the spirit of the original 6542, albeit in a more blingy iteration.

I went to my AD to ask for the oyster bracelet for my BLRO to share my wrist time with my jubilee, and I was told that Rolex is now only allowing to purchase it after 5 years from the beginning of the warranty. Fortunately, I found an almost new one at a very good price close to my city and now I own both.

Just another reason to buy another watch with same lug width in Jubilee. New watch and ability to swap bracelets.

Seems to be whatever the AD chooses to do.
Some US ADs have been doing it recently and others say it's not an option.

This was the case in the UK when I had mine swapped. RSC was saying one thing, AD was saying another, then the story changed, then changed back. I stuck with the London RSC and when I showed my BLRO on Jubilee to my AD they said "we didn't think you could do that".

In fairness to my AD who is highly professional and diplomatic to a fault, I got an impression that the information coming from Rolex was a bit hazy and changed more than once.

I knew a few years back, people were ordering bracelets no problem, just as long as you owned the watch that it belonged on. Then I heard that Rolex stopped letting people order altogether. Now it seems like YMMV and depends on your particular AD?

I’d also heard the same when enquiring about an oyster bracelet to add to my GMT.

I would add that I was advised that it needs to be fitted at the time of collection as Rolex will not supply loose parts, but my original bracelet would be returned.

The very helpful lady I spoke with at RSC mentioned they were in stock ‘at the moment’. Maybe goes to explain why there’s often mixed messages about being able to order them.

The Jubilee bracelet is £1,800 including VAT so I would imagine the Oyster to be slightly cheaper given the additional cost when buying a new GMT from an AD on a Jubilee (£200 difference). Will try and find out when I pick mine up

Not sure why there should be an issue with buying an additional bracelet for a watch, I had a Jubilee bracelet on my DJ but had fallen out of love with the look, went to my AD to see if I could order an Oyster bracelet and was told yes payment up front £1200.

The new bracelet arrived within 10 days, sized and fitted by the AD, now I have both bracelets.

That is exactly my experience so far but there are plenty of comments on this forum of not being able to obtain the additional bracelet from their AD, RSC etc

Depends on the ADs, some let you order it, some don't

My AD has always been adamant that I cannot buy the jubilee bracelet if I recieve the GMT in oyster. However I can opt for the GMT in jubilee and then buy the oyster same time. I bought a BLNR in oyster in 2023 and asked for a jubilee after a month and AD said this is why I offered you the BLNR in jubilee!!

So for my next Rolex I requested the GRNR GMT in jubilee + oyster bracelet on the side.

Never had any success with buying bracelets in the US, all I can assume is the policies may be different in Europe.

I’ve been to three ADs to get an Oyster for my 336934 SkyDm and have been told by ALL THREE that they can not sell an Oyster bracelet by itself for my SkyD, so I really struggle with how you got the nod to do a Jubilee no less for a GMT which are more in demand than even a SkyD.

Granted I’m in the US, but I can’t manage to bring proof to the table that the rules have changed and they can order an Oyster for me!

Frustrating…

Not apples to apples, but I recently [past year] ordered a classic jubilee for my 16710 from my local AD. Also more recently was able to order a Tudor 5-Link.

This is no help whatsoever and probably more than irritating for those wanting more bracelet options. Wishing you the best in your search.

just get one from St James's.

All these stories of yes and no over the years.

I was infact one of the first to get an Oyster for my Jubilee in the UK and I cant believe how many times this question pops up.

Tried that. They want to service the watch and then swap out the existing bracelet. No thanks.

Still waiting to hear which AD he has managed to order one from?

Be a problem solver, buy one GMT on Oyster and one on Jubilee then you get 4 watches! Haha
