Patek Philippe boutique experiences

Anyone on here who are primarily customers of the boutiques in the US, can you share your experiences? I know the US has several ADs, but only 3 standalone boutiques. Do you find there is less BS going through a boutique versus an AD? I like the idea that I’m dealing with a boutique that only sells PP and I won’t feel pressure to build a relationship by buying jewelry and other non PP watches. However, since these boutiques are not owned by PP, I always wonder/worry if the VIPs (for example Gearys in Beverley Hills) will still get preferential treatment at the boutique making it harder to get the watch you want. Do any of you who deal primarily through the boutiques feel it’s been a good and generally positive experience getting the references you want?

It is a challenge wherever you go if you want the watches in high demand. A Boutique is not a short cut to an allocation of such watches. You still have to build a relationship and that usually involves purchasing watches.

I definitely don’t expect any shortcuts. I actually want to buy 2 Calatravas, 1-2 complications and hopefully along the way an aquanaut and nautilus. I’m fortunate to have a few ADs around me and a stand alone boutique. Just trying to figure out if I should work with an AD that sells other watches/jewelry or go with the boutique. If the boutiques give preferential treatment to their parent company’s clients, then I feel I would be at a disadvantage going boutique. I would hope the boutiques do truly care about the brand and selling watches to their customers that are looking to build a collection.

Regardless of country, have always enjoyed cordial service when visiting a PP AD. Many are quite knowledgeable, too, in various facets of watchmaking.
