A couple rare birds

I was at a function at our local AD and spotted these two rare pieces. Amazing execution.

Hahahaha!

Surprised they have these sitting out as they’re almost certainly application for a specific customer, I guess they backed out?

Suspect they just haven’t collected them yet. One can buy tax free in New Zealand but you need to fly out of the country with the purchase. So sometimes it just takes a bit of juggling to set that up.

Indeed. That’s a lot of animal cruelty on a Friday morning

That kiwi bird dial looks like it was made especially for a special collector in New Zealand. The manta ray with diamond bezel is probably for a special lady collector, but then there are men who like diamond bezels as well.

It would be a shame if these watches are display only watches and they deserve to be worn on a whale collector's wrist.

I know this may be obvious to others, but what does the “40ct” stand for on the kiwi-pictured dial? The dial initially resembled a replica of a stamp, but I didn’t think Patek would necessarily do that…and i don’t know what currency 40ct represents. So I figure the 40ct refers to something else?
Thanks.

You’ve got it 100% correct. The dial is a copy of a round New Zealand stamp. The 40 ct is 40 cents.

I actually really like the kiwi bird dial - the manta ray would be better without dimaonds
