It does indeed. 5 and 6 digits are different enough. They are 2 great watches. As long as you aren’t bored with two there’s no issue.

I think a 116610 and a 116613LB make better sense. Or the LN and a LV, something like this.

Only if you have a large collection. If 2 or 3, I would like more variety.

For me yes, Subs are what put me on this journey. I enjoy a 1680 and 116613LN. Cheers to enjoying what you love and Merry Xmas

Yes.

I've always preferred the no date but I also have a 116610.

It does not, but not much about this hobby does. Considering two Explorers myself.

lol, absolutely not. I recall early 2010s when ppl were posting up their collection of Comex Subs and the like - some collections had like 10 subs.

The more subs, the better. I have a 11 series SS date and a 12 series TT black dial.

If you're fully enjoying those 2 Subs, then it makes 100% sense! For me, the 2 that you have are quite different watches.

I some cases having two of the same watch is fine but in my case, several Rolexes look fairly similar anyway. I really like them all and love the differences.

Watch collecting is such a personal journey. It wouldn’t make sense for me … it’d be a one or the other

I love SubDates, but for me, probably not. I'd rather have one of yours AND an LB, LV, or Sub as the other. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Why not?? I have 2 Sub Dates, although they are different, in that one is a 126610LN and the other a 126610LV. Different colors bring different options.

Yours are aluminum and ceramic. Clasps are different as well. One brings a vintage-ish vibe with a subdued bezel while the other is shinier and current.

Hell yes, I have two Sea-Dwellers and two Explorers! If it brings you joy then logic doesn’t matter.

I justify it by having one date, and one no date. It worked with my wife!

If you don't have 2, or possibly more, watches that are similar then you are probably not a watch enthusiast.

It does - I have acrylic and sapphire crystal variants with mtl inserts from the 50s to early 2000s; and various ceramic models.

Speaking from a Rolex collector point of view it makes perfect sense to keep both one has been discontinued one is the current movement. I happen to have both of them the discontinued one has a rubber bee watch strap on it the current model is still on stainless steel so essentially I have turned them into two different looks both exceptional watches both highly valued and both are very enjoyable to wear and know that I have them. However as far as you go you have to make your own decision on this but yes I would say keep both and enjoy.

Having two similar watches can actually be pretty cool, You can wear one for more formal occasions and the other for everyday wear.
