116619 daily for 12 yrs

I have worn this every day for 12 years now.
It has never been in for service, it keeps perfect time!
Should it go in for a polish and preventative maintenance or should I just keep on trucking?
👍🏻🇺🇸👍🏻

I’ve come to the conclusion that the Tapatalk app is well worth it for posting pictures on this website in particular. It doesn’t cost very much.

Why fix something if it ain’t broke ?

If you must than I would let the RSC work their magic and you’ll get a brand new looking watch again

I have the same situation with my 116718. I bought it new in 2012. I am sending it in for its first service next week when RWSC Dallas reopens. While it only gains a second a day, it is the rubber gaskets that worry me, especially the stem one. Almost every Rolex I have had needed service at seven years because of rate regulation (except two newer “12” series watches that needed rate regulation under warranty at about.three years).

X2. I worry about the seals more than anything else.

Agreed. If they want to swim in it, service isn’t the worst idea. A a pressure test everyone once in a while and run it until it stops.

Like anything mechanical it will need a service at some point. I prefer to do those services before a failure requires it and I pay more than the service would have require to rectify those issues. Twelve years, it is time.

Get service when it stops. As mentioned above, the rubber gaskets have aged at this point.

Tend to agree. 12 years is great, and might as well send it in now to get another 12+ out of it. Awesome watch.

I wouldn’t polish it as it’ll end up looking the same down the road. You sure have worn it well!

There are 2 schools of thought here, 1) wait until you have a problem movement (it stops)
2) service before that and have it lightly polished, I didn’t see any dings or case damage.

This is your daily, I would have it serviced and made new again for another 12 years of service

Cheers,

If running fine then leave it, no polish just service.

Great watch.

Fantastic! If it's keeping time and working as it should then keep wearing it. When it's time for service you'll know it and at that point don't ignore or neglect what's going on but just send it in!

Great watch, but looks really beat up. I would polish it to new condition. But I just like pristine looking watches in general :)

I don't believe I am going to say it, but polish it. Find someone who will laser weld it though, because you do have some deep gouges and dents that will end up taking too much material from the watch if you don't fill them in. And yes, definitely service it.

I think it looks absolutely fantastic as-is, but for a daily, would service and pressure test, etc. Love it, here’s to the next million miles with that beauty!

I would just have it serviced without a polish. Given its condition, I would think you would lose a lot of metal and maybe some case form to remove all the scratches. They just come back anyway.

wearing it every day for 12 years without needing service is quite a feat, But a polish and some preventative maintenance could give it a nice refresh.
