Forstner Bracelets?
Does anyone have experience with these?
I have heard they used to make the bracelets for Omega. The reason I ask is I have never been happy with the bracelet that came with my 3861 (from an aesthetic perspective) and prefer the look of the original flat link style bracelet on the Speedmaster. I worry they bracelet might feel mismatched/of dissimilar quality if I put it on my 3861. Any one know the history of this brand and if their products are good?

I tried a Forstner Flat-Link on my Silver Snoopy. Wasn't particularly happy with the quality which I felt wasn't up to par for the watch. Plus resizing resulted in a couple of crossed threads and damaged pins. In general, probably worth the price, but just not good enough quality to meet my modest standards. I've since replaced it with an Omega Bracelet. |

Thanks for the feedback. Did you get the Contemporary flat link version or just the normal flat link?

I am a Forstner fan and own at least six of the bracelets. They have all worked well for me on my 1861 Speedmaster. They can give the watch a vintage vibe and they all wear and look well. They are also very easy to adjust, as opposed to Omega OEM bracelets and I can get a perfect fit every time. Add in the money for an OEM bracelet and you have the answer. Give one a try.

I tried a Forstner 1450 on my 1861 Speedmaster. The spring-loaded links failed on me, but Forstner service was excellent and readily sent a replacement.
The difference in steel color (as noted above) bothered me though, I eventually couldn't get over it. |
