Submariner 1680

Trying to learn and do my homework before buying a Submariner. Looking for one that has all original parts but many that I see from reputable dealers like Bobs have replaced bezel inserts and some have serviced replaced crowns and crystals. Most have been polished in varying degrees
So how much value is affected by these issues mentioned above?
Should I consider examples with replaced inserts and crowns?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Depends on what you are looking for.

A collection piece, that you should not wear, would be one in completely original condition as you seem to be looking for.

Almost any 50 year old watch is likely to have been serviced and parts and pieces replaced, as well as damage from use. Crystals, inserts, plexi, mainsprings, and several of the commonly worn running gears and pinions are expendable and expected to be replaced.

It's up to you on if you insist on these original expendables.

It really is a personal choice, affordability and how you intended to wear the watch. I bought both the nice set and serviced ones. The nice set sit in the safe most of the time, and the serviced ones, i wear and enjoy it without worrying ding and dent, and put on cheap aftermarket bezel for the look per se... So if u are looking for just 1 watch and settle there, go for the best u can find and afford but i doubt this will happen in most cases, ha
