Bark Time Bark Owners Check In

Bark finish Day Dates have been long discontinued and they have always been polarizing preference. All these factors make them rare in todays era.

If you have and cherish lets see them.

Here's mine acquired nos few years back which is easily my favorite in collection.

That looks very nice indeed. To the non enthusiast one could be forgiven for thinking that the center links had received an aftermarket polish. It looks very striking, mind.

I used to hate them, now I like it. Saw an Arab dial one in Bark and it was awesome.

Not mine but you can’t deny the presence of white gold bark…

A bit retro but it looks very sharp. It has a classic & classy air to it.

I love the white gold. How rare are they? What years were they produced ?

This Day Date is from 1984, presented to me on becoming President of the company I worked for. Rarely worn as it’s not my style but brings me good vibes when on my wrist.

Bark bracelets are a bit heavier than the 8385 President bracelets at the time. Love the 18078 and 18238. Don’t see them often.

I remember back in the early 80's while going to college in Ft. Worth, when oil was still flying high... a lot of the big players in the petroleum industry wore them in the Dallas/Ft.Worth/Houston area.

That’s a stunner for a first Rolex. Where did you go from here?

My next watch was a 16622, then added two Day Date 40s, a couple of Pepsi's, Blue Sky, SS 500 Daytona, and more. I'm hearing voices, I can't stop, and my meds don't seem to work, please help me!!

I have my late father's 18078. But it's not in the pristine shape like the ones here. It was and still is a daily and not babied !

Always liked these. Centre link finishing is like nothing I've seen or recall seeing elsewhere.

Looks great OP. But question, what exactly is the bark texture? Gold inscription of a specific pattern?

The center links and bezel on a 18078 are "cut" to resemble "tree" bark. Gorgeous look
