panerai has ways to go before reaching rolex

i just have a rant about the panerai company. if there are panerai employees here please take note.

its so hard to get service here in Philippines and Asia in general. and when i want to order a model. it takes them so long to get it.

so much unlike rolex. the availablility is there when you want it, and service is always there.

Officine Panerai makes far fewer watches per year than Rolex - hence the long wait for a lot of their popular models.

As for the service - Panerai under Richemont is also a relatively (compared to Rolex) new venture so give it time and it will sort itself out.

Same with Ferrari cars: hard to get, service is pain in the butt.

And Philippines is not high on Panerai's "export to" country list.
You need to visit Singapore/Hong Kong (and maybe Jakarta) to find a larger selection.

so far i have observed, most of the time popular models are hardly or not even available for walk in..even the historic models are also hard to come by at the ADs. Scenario here is "If you wanna one leave your name on the list, and the AD would call you once stock *arrives".

*this can take months or no call at all, probably forgotten abt your reservation if not a regular ....

My, we are in a jovial mood today Neefie.

However, I don't even have a Panerai AD in South Australia and only one Rolex AD. All service work for both of these brands go to Rolex in Victoria.

No wonder I don't see many Pams over here.

louie, I would say 95% of ADs give priority to repeat customers and thats how it should be. I will give you my business (money) and I expect priority. Its the way life is. You want to a table @ a popular coffee shop on Orchard, you better be a customer who tips well ;)

same thing here in vancouver bc.....only one dealer....and you have to be put on a waiting list to get anything. Usually have to wait a year to get what you want. If I go to the United States I can get anything I want with in days!
