Aged to perfection - Journe Patina

Over the years, we have observed Journe watches doing fairly well in auctions. Maybe it's due to the founder's charisma, his technical excellence, his quirky looking watches and relative rarity. I have lately noted another category of his watches that appear to do exceedingly well, especially his early Resonance and Tourbillon with patina dials, like these beauties below. These are now big collector's favourites.

Collectors love original patina whether it be watches or my other collecting arena coins. If it's original patina it commands a premium. In the coin world artificial patina/toning is a problem hopefully that doesn't eventually become a thing in the watch world!

I'm working hard to accelerate the process. It's 95% humidity here and the bright sunlight is always helpful.

Love those patina examples.
Good luck

I’m a serious collector and really do not appreciate patina. I love the original look as it was intended.

Beautiful, thanks for sharing. I’m interested in the way folks view vintage patina. Personally I very much like the subtle patina yellow gold cases seem to get. And I like it on dial finishes and luminescent areas. Some watches I see have dial patina in areas around the indexes much more prominently, which I surmise is related to radiation exposure from old timey lume, is that accurate? And is that kind of uneven application frowned upon in the vintage community? I think it looks kinda cool in many cases but I don’t know generally how that’s perceived.
