Great thread and not an easy question for me to answer. My grail was the 116710LN back in 2019. My AD didn't have one in stock back in January, 2019, but they said I could have the next one that came in. After he told me that, he paused for a moment and said he would be right back and came out with a Rolex box. He opened it up and a 126711CHNR was inside. I was kind of shocked and asked if I could buy it and he smiled and said yes. I immediately said yes. I was over the moon about that watch and still am to this day. As fate would have it I walked in a week or three later and saw they had a 116710LN staring at me from the case. I knew it was likely it was going to be discontinued at that point and was a little shocked to see one. My sales guy was talking to a jewelry rep as I mumbled they got one in. He said "yeah, you gonna buy it?" and it took me a third of a second to say "maybe" which we all know means yes! I was again over the moon!!!! I had my "grail"! My AD then offered me a 126710BLNR a few months later and my 116710LN while being worn a few times in the intervening months, was still perfect and being my grail I didn't want the stress of wearing it so it is still perfect to this day and not worn since. I know it's silly, but that's how much I love this watch. So, I have worn the 126710BLNR as a "driver" and while it is almost still perfect, I consider it a "beater", meaning if something happens to it I can replace it. However, I recently saw an immaculate 116710BLNR and am a little obsessed by them now. I have been toying with just paying the money for a nice one used and wearing it as a daily. |

I have yet to try on the BLRO or CHNR; I do own the 116710BLNR however and am absolutely in love with it.

Of the current models and those that come within my budget the CHNR is possibly my favourite with the BLRO a close run second with the BLNR a tiny fraction behind in third place.
To be honest I like them all.

116710 LN is my favourite Rolex of all time. It has all the benefits that the six digit models brought in a versatile, understated and classy look. I would have preferred brushed centre links but still love it the most by a large margin. I just don’t see anything much in the jubilee and multi coloured ceramic bezels. The CHNR is the best looking current model but I never wear gold.

What about the 126719 with the blue dial? Granted, it’s not stainless but the blue dial is gorgeous. I don’t understand why this piece is not more coveted......
