How Many Rolex's Does One Need To Have To Call Themselves a Collector?

My thinking is that only rare, or historically significant or unique watches owner can be called collector.

If you own a modern BMW and Lexus it does not make you a car collector. You’re an owner of two cars.

I kind of agree but what if you own 3 modern Lexus’s (Lexi?)? I would call that person a Lexus collector.

If one is a collector 1 grail will not be enough, said collector will start to buy lower end watches telling himself they are just a G-shock or alpinist or whatever slowly inching his way into more expensive watches before even he/she realizes it he has a collection once more...

You don't need a Rolex to have a collection. If you have a few that you enjoy wearing and owning, that's a collection.

Having a collection and being a collector are not the same.

A watch collector to me is a person who has a passion for watches, learns about them and owns 3 or more.
