FS: Rolex Submariner 1680, 1979-80, Excellent, Great Patina

Selling this beautiful Rolex Submariner 1680 from about 1979-80 (serial 6157XXX) in excellent condition and with amazing matching patina on the original tritium. I’ve owned several of these through the years, and this is the nicest one I’ve had, with perfectly matching deep cream/ivory patina on the hour markers of the original MK2 dial, along with the hands and bezel insert pearl. (Note UV photo showing uniform correct tritium reaction. Tritium has no glow after UV is removed, of course.)

Fantastic case that has just been expertly refinished. Comes with its original MK3 insert in excellent condition, original brushed silver date wheel with open 6s and 9s, and original 93150 bracelet with 580 end links and VE date code (1980) stamped on the clasp. The bracelet is near mint, with slight stretch but fully wearable. Comes with 11 links. Timekeeping is well within COSC specs, and the watch just passed a pressure test for water resistance (all rubber gaskets were replaced). Serial and reference numbers between the lugs are fully intact and readable.

Just a wonderful vintage Submariner 1680 that is fully correct and ready to be worn. Only selling because it's not getting enough wrist time in my collection. (Photos show a combination of indoor and outdoor lighting. Last three digits of serial number are intentionally blurred in photo.)
