Multiple SA at same AD?

Anyone else talk to or have done business with multiple SA’s as the same AD? What was the outcome?

A little backstory, stopped by a few months ago to register my interest in a BLNR, for my 40th b-day,a few days later SA1 reached out confirming my interest and that he would be in touch. About a month and a half go by, I stop to say hello, he’s busy, so I send an email just touching base and mentioning my stop. He responds, “sorry I missed you”.

Fast forward to yesterday, we were in the same mall grabbing lunch, and decided to stop by and see if they had a Pelagos 39 to check out, I spotted SA1, but he was with a customer. So I walked up to the Tudor display, and was checking out the current inventory, this is when SA 2 walked up and asked if he could help, I mentioned wanting to check out the Pelagos in the flesh, ended up talking about what we both had on the wrist, and other models present and past, really hit it off I felt.

At the end after trying on a few Tudor GMT’s, he gives me his business card, and a customer info sheet, I filled it out with great hesitation lol and he says “I’ll call you” we chat a little more and I mention my interest in a BLNR as it’s my grail, he says “we can work towards that”, I say sounds good, shake his hand again and exit the store.

I don’t know that i had any chance with SA1 or SA2 as I have no purchase history and this particular store is In the “nicer” side of town, so I’m sure their VIP list is extensive. I feel like I might have diminished any slight chance of being offered anything by talking to two different SA’s, I guess time will tell.

Thanks for reading and I appreciate any feedback.

I would stick with the SA you resonate with the most.

It don't matter. You haven't bought anything. Also, they have to work that out internally because most stores will say "your relationship is with the store."

Work with the person you like the most but it’s absolutely going to cause issues with your first SA and second SA.

That being said no one gets a Batman in a month and a half so give your first SA more time to work.

Working towards a BLNR means “buy other stuff and we’ll see”. Is that how you understood it as well?

FYI. "We can work towards that" means you need to buy other things to get that BLNR.

Work with who is available. In the end, until you are offered the watch you want, it is just an exercise.

It's ok and better to switch if there is SA you resonate with better. But in general, don't shotgun your attention between them. They need to know that they are the one you are expecting an allocation from.

Right, this wasn't my expectation.

Yes, absolutely how I understood it, unfortunately.

Idk about multiple SA's in the same store but in a sister store, obviously yes.

It doesn't matter which SA we see, the outcome doesn't change. There is one person we prefer to deal with because over the years we have become friendly, but they are all nice people to deal with and when it comes to Rolex, the store owner and store manager and head of department make the call on who gets what.

i’d stick with whoever you get along with most. i’d make a purchase (if you were planning on doing that regardless) with SA1 and see how the relationship goes after that. unfortunately without exchanging money, you’re just one of 600 people that walk in a week talking about the same thing

Reminds me of the Seinfeld roommate switch episode.

If SA1 stops seeming like they are interested in procuring you a new watch, pivot over to SA2. Recently, SA1 had nothing for me close to 2 years. On a whim, I stopped by and chatted with a new SA, and walked out with my Sub date 41. Recently, reached back out to SA1 and SA2 as I now have purchase history with both for my batgirl. We’ll see who comes through first.

I’m pretty sure incoming references are allocated in a rotation to the six SA’s at my Boutique. There is a master list of sorts but each SA only gets to add so many of their clients.
I’ve known my SA for over 25 years so I am loyal to him although I know and chat withbthe manager and other SA’s too. I would not attempt to play them off each other.
