Paris and Rome AD

Going to both cities in next couple days.
Fingers crossed for AD visits because last time in Paris on Champs Elysees they essentially told me to get lost when I walked in.

Mostly in jest. I know Paris at least would be tough.
I will give you a full report after visiting.
That is all.

I was just in Paris….
Nothing for sale but Arije had all the new Daytona references on exhibit and allowed me to try them on. That was a nice surprise….

Good luck!

Enjoy your trip

I don’t bother visiting Rolex ADs abroad any more. It used to be more fun a decade ago

I recently returned from Venice and Rome. I visited the Rolex boutique in Venice but not Rome.

Venice had most of the popular references on display, including the new Le Mans Daytona (which looks great, IMHO).

Nothing for sale, regrettably, and forget about wait lists as there are none.

For Rolex, you are wasting your time. Same exhibition watches we see here is USA but last year saw eye if the tiger Daytona in portofino. Just got new omega blue 75th in Paris 4 weeks ago. They don’t arrive here until September.

I wouldn't bother, unless you have time on your hands not better spent doing other things. Enjoy your trip.

Have to agree. Nothing in Paris’s. The last time I saw anything for sale at cdg k terminal was after Christmas 2021. And even then they were the most expensive references.

Most likely a watch like that if the ad has it, they will sell it to you. It’s usually the 30k plus watches that I find accessible in Europe, except outliers like Platona and wg daytona. But a pm day date should not be hard to fill anywhere as long as they have it.

When visiting other cities I usually get the "here comes another tourist" eyeball from the AD and always get attitude. I usually strike out in terms of acquiring anything and not worth the extra travel when I am dragging my family along.

If you make it to Athens, you can pretty much walk in and buy one. I was at a couple of ADs 2 weeks ago and saw close to a dozen DDs including 4 YG 40MM.
That being said, the MSRP for Rolexes in Greece is a bit higher than elsewhere in Europe, and they don't do VAT refunds, so you're better off buying gray in the US.

Why waste time on your visit going to watch stores. You can do that at home. The inventory available for immediate sale to walk-ins with no purchase history is the same everywhere.

Arije boutique has them (including the platinum) until the end of the month. No Le Mans though.

I did a lot of traveling last year, I wasn't tempted at all to visit any Rolex AD. It's a colossal waste of time. Hell there was one literally next to the hotel I was staying at.

Was at the AD in Rome recently.
Nothing for sale, didn’t even ask but got to try the Challenge and DJ fluted dial.
Excellent staff, nice experience

I wouldn't recommend it unless you have some spare time that could be more wisely invested elsewhere. Have a great trip!

Thanks y’all.

I usually just walk by Rolex and Omega in Paris and if there is an opportunity, I’ll look. I don’t visit specifically for watches. This is a work trip so no family in-tow.
Too late, closed anyway.

Bon jour.

I got the same feeling when I went to the AD in Venice. Lots of nice watches to try on (they didn't have the new daytonas), but nothing to buy and don't even ask.

Thats odd...doesnt Greece have 12-15% Tax refund?

I regretted waiting in line to go in the Rolex store on Champs Elysees in Paris last year - of course I knew it would be a waste of my time but I held out for that .01% chance that they had something "in the back" - I should've just enjoyed one of the dozens of other stores that actually have something to sell.

I don’t get, how do they survive with nothing to sell?
Enjoy your trio, pass bye if you have extra time.

Was in paris last week and one AD had a WG sub for sale. Whenever I travel and if it's on my way, I stop by just in case.

Which AD? And was it on display for sale or did they fetch if from the back for you?

That is all.

Just back from Venice and went into the *Salvadori Boutique Rolex in St Marks Square.

Literally had everything in the window. Daytonas, Sky Dwellers, Rootbeers etc.

Went inside for a chat and asked jokingly what’s not for sale and he literally said ‘everything’

Usual story I’m afraid.

Good luck in Rome.

I’m going to Paris soon so let us know how you get on there.

Last year we were visiting Rome, Venice and Paris, so on our way home, we had a layover at the Zurich airport and I stopped into the Rolex store there, and everything was for exhibit only. I was so depressed.
