Vacheron Constantin CDV 1955 Pick Up

Earlier this year I picked up two pieces, one which is certainly a grail and the other is the Vacheron Cornes De Vache 1955.

I did not know of this watch's existence until my sales rep (who I bought my 4500v from) called me to stop by the boutique just to "chat". When I was shown this piece I was surprised at how elegant it looked but I didn't like the price point, especially since I wasn't looking to pick up another piece from VC...or so I thought.

3-4 months passed and I kept looking into the CDV and the more I appreciated this piece. In May it just happened the mall that the boutique was located in had a sales promotion where I could apply discounts to purchases at certain shops and VC was one of them. So I ended up pulling the trigger on the CDV.

The lugs on this one is just amazing and definitely one of the main reason why this piece looks so elegant.

The dial is a light cream silver and the white track provides a nice contrast. I really wanted an all white dial but that only came on the platinum model but I surprisingly like dial that is currently on the steel model as well.

The movement is also finished amazingly.

Swapping out the straps to a grey color makes it look a lot more casual and I can wear it with a t shirt and jeans or business attire no problem.

Another great thing about this piece is that it is super under the radar. I can wear it to client meetings and nobody knows what I am wearing which is nice.

This piece just fits so well and is actually quite versatile. An under appreciated beauty.

Now get me that steel 222 whenever that launches

Congrats. I have tried one on and it is such an elegant little watch. I was blown away when I saw it in person. The lugs add a ton of character.

This might be the best looking chrono I’ve ever seen.
The 1815 wins on movement decoration and Patek is Patek, but the complete package of de CdV blows them out of the water imho.
(I prefer the original strap much more.)

Huge congrats on this amazing piece of art

Belated congratulations! The Cornes de Vache is one of the most beautiful watches ever made, in my opinion. Wear it in good health!
