New AP’s prediction 2024 thread!

Curious to see what everyone thinks (or is hoping for) will happen in 2024 as this year is coming to a slow close.

The 150th anniversary of AP is coming in 2025, so I’m assuming all the heavy hitters will release in 2025 (?).

Only obvious thing I could think of is leaning into more ladies pieces since the new CEO is taking over officially. Probably will see some evolution of the CODE lineup as well in both 38 and 41.

Sadly, I’ve heard that it is highly unlikely a Dual Time complication is coming out anytime soon

Sad... a dual time is sorely needed...

Would be a bummer to not see a dual time.

I hope we see some “attainable” RO releases - I feel like many of the releases were limited or very high ticket items

All the watches/ releases are planned out for the next five years. The new ceo / being female/ will change nothing we see.

I read somewhere that the production timeline for AP was already determined for a few years, so the impact/direction of the new CEO won't really be obvious for a while.

- A full line of 37 ROOs

- more variations for 38 Code + possible 38 Code Chrono (which maybe opens door for open case back 38 ROC)

- Smaller complications beyond RD3

Again the roadmap is already locked in for next many years (FBH DNA)…but let’s see

Does AP have in house chrono caliber for 38? I doubt they would do any outsourced movements for 38 code bc they wouldn’t want to have a closed case back or have an open case back for non in house movements

My guess, a new Perpetual Calendar in house movement that will debut in Code 11:59 then make its way to RO eventually!

I expect the PM 41m Codes to get guilloche dials like the SS ones.
And more focus on women pieces.

World Timer plus broadening the use of the new split second chrono movement in the Concept.

I wonder why they don’t sell any royal oaks on rubber strap? Could be cool, it’s a great look, maybe a lower entry point. Stainless steel three handers on rubber. Why not

This would be killer! Everyone will be tripping over themselves for a Code in such case…especially if it’s in steel.

However, a new CEO must have veto power, I would expect/hope, no? So, if she thinks one of planned projects (eg Marvel character) is not to her standards, then she can certainly kill it off, or change its direction. She can’t sit around for 5 years and let pre-planned projects define her tenure…and then any good releases get attributed to long gone FHB, while bad releases result in her getting blamed. I’m no product manufacturing CEO, but I’d think there’s more to it. But I do expect there are plenty experienced forum members to possibly shed light if I’m way off.

Ceramic Jumbo. It's out there already.
Just look at what Francois was wearing at GPHG.

This time he wanted to do it himself, not Kevin Hart
