Can someone tell me if the whole watch is waterproof.I was told by someone that even if water got into my Deepsea it would be fine.

I would say you were mis-informed. If water gets into the movement you'll need to get it serviced ASAP. The chances of it getting into a Sea Dweller is slim, unless you go diving with the crown unscrewed or damage to the caseback or crystal.

I would imagine water in any watch would not be a beautiful thing.

The whole watch IS waterproof... as long as you have it pressure checked every couple of years

That means that water won't get in..... If it did, the insides would rust just like any other fine machinery.........

If water gets inside it is very bad and you should get it serviced immediately. But as others have said as long as you are careful to screw the crown down when going in the water and give it a moderate amount of service you should have no trouble.

Neither Brass, nor Stainless Steel and Rubies do!

I do understand though, the thinning of Oil and the Salts in the water would do some harm. But first you won´t be able to tell the time, because of condensation inside the crystal.

Or am I wrong?

Stainless will rust, no problem

You must be kidding!!

You´ll get banned!

Now, 316 ( and I suppose the inner SS parts are from that material ) WILL corrode with Salts ( Chloride ), but I doubt it will RUST. Not 316, not with Sea Water, at least not quick.

I am NOT sure about this, I would like to know!
