Breitling.....a desirable watch....at last?

£4400.

Any idea where the design inspiration came from?

I received an email yesterday from my AD promoting this very watch, so I assumed that it was a,‘new’ watch.

I’ve just had a look at the Breitling website and it’s difficult to tell.
Never been a fan, but lots of nice looking ‘pieces.

Make Waves with the New UK Exclusive Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 Watch
Introducing the new Breitling UK Limited Edition Superocean Automatic 42 watch: a sporty sea watch with a 38-hour power reserve shock where performance meets style for all your water-based pursuits from diving to surfing and swimming. With the trademark incredible performance from Breitling, this range balances a sense of nostalgia and modernity.

The Breitling Superocean Legacy: A History of Excellence

The Superocean collection is one of Breitling's most iconic. In the 1960s, the new sport of scuba diving was all the rage. For divers, timing was everything and Breitling set out to give them the most clear-cut dive watch possible by eliminating any feature that didn't support their lifesaving needs underwater. This pared-down watch was named the Superocean Slow Motion. What remained were clean lines, chunky luminescent indexes, squared-off hands and a high-contrast dial ring, all aimed at maximum legibility. Practical, yes. But what people really fell in love with was the look.

With the new Superocean, Breitling retraces the Slow Motion's celebrated design codes, while adding modern features such as a scratch-proof ceramic-inlayed uni-directional bezel and brightly coloured dials to assist with speedy identification. This in turn allows the Superocean Automatic 42 range to be water resistant up to 30m (1,000ft). As a result, these latest additions of watches offer both cutting-edge technical and stylish design aesthetics, perfect for divers and those obsessed with the ocean.

Watch Features: Performance Meets Style

Broad hands and indexes are in a rainbow gradient of luminescent Super-LumiNova allowing for easy readability (and extra snazziness). The watch is resistant to 300m (1,000ft), as well as being shock, sand and saltwater-resistant. Best of all, this is no longer strictly a dive watch - surf with it, swim with it, hit the beach bar with it, and then wear it out to dinner. An all-day-by-the-beach timepiece! The Superocean perfectly balances the nostalgia of its heritage with a fresh new look.

The Breitling UK Limited Edition Superocean Automatic 42 A173757A1B1A1: Elegant Yet Sporty

Case and Dial: Features a striking black dial with anthracite rehaut paired with a matching black ceramic bezel. The watch has a strong presence with its 42mm stainless steel case and 3-row stainless steel bracelet. The bold, contrasting white markers and numerals ensure exceptional legibility even in the deepest waters.
Movement: Powered by the Breitling Caliber 17 automatic movement, the Breitling UK Exclusive A173757A1B1A1 offers a 38-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable performance for any adventure.
Water Resistance: With a water resistance of up to 300m (1,000ft) this timepiece is ideal for diving and underwater exploration.
UK Limited Edition: This model is one of only 400 available in the UK, making it a true collector’s item. The limited edition status adds a layer of exclusivity that will appeal to both seasoned collectors and newcomers alike.

So, if you’re looking for a new Breitling piece to add to your collection, or you’ve recently taken up a new water-based pursuit; you can discover the latest additions to the Breitling Superocean collection on our website, or visit our Michael Spiers Plymouth showroom to start your Breitling journey today.

I think breitling is great. Two things I personally dislike is the breitling B-logo instead of the (old) B-wing logo.
Secondly the depreciation after new purchase.
