Old Rolex Watch - Is it genuine ?
Hi everyone, I joined this forum to seek some help. This watch used to belong to my uncle and after he passed away, it was given to me by the family as a remembrance gift. The watch is old and does not work but holds sentimental value for me.
I thought I'd post some pictures here as I've always wondered if it is a genuine Rolex ? - I would not mind if it is not but it would be good to know. I'm not sure why the Rolex Logo is not above the word "Rolex" - is that intentional or has it broken off. You can see the logo fixated near the number 3 in the dial. I have also provided pics of the back of the watch. The croc finished leather strap has the branding embossed in it as can be seen on the back image at the top. If this is a Genuine Rolex then maybe I could get it serviced and get to wear it. Is it possible to service the watch and bring it to working condition ? - I guess that would be a secondary issue. Any kind help will be appreciated. Regards - Sam |

The dial states "Oyster Date". It is not an oyster case but a snap back case. There is no date. The case back is inscribed with logos never seen before. Judging from the crown this is a quartz watch. It is a fake.
