5513
As some of you know I'm in the process of a mild re-focus of my collection. As such I'm offering my 5513 for your consideration.
History. I purchased this watch several years ago from a wonderfull gentleman who had just had the watch serviced by Rolex BH. Of course the RSC paperwork accompanies the watch. I have for the photos blotted his name out in deference to him. The watch. This is MKIII maxi dial bearing a 6.04 mil. serial number. As some of you know the MAXI dial was used on 5513s from roughly 5.5 mil through approx 6.7 mil. (Of course as has been discussed the MAXI was also used as a service replacement on earlier examples). The original dial and hands have a very even off white patina and the hands show no signs of corrosion. The tritium indices are stable and exibit no migration or flaking. The bracelet is, of course, the 93150 however as you can see in the photo it is the older version with sizing holes running the complete length of the clasp. As you can see the insert is a latter service replacement and the bezel turns smoothly bi-directionally. Timekeeping. On my wrist the watch displays a timekeeping of +2 seconds a day. Certainly how you wear and your habits might affact this, but during the times I've worn the watch it's been exceptionally consistent. Condition. This is perhaps one of the nicest 5513s I have seen. Those that have held and studied the watch at GTGs I've attended have commented on the "museum quality" of the piece. Price. Given the condition of the watch and it's service history, the watch is priced at a fair and firm $4500 USD. Shipping. I prefer USPS registered, but we can discuss other ways if you prefer. NOTE: other methods will incur additional insurance at the buyers expense. Due to headaches this offer is for CONUS only. Thanks for looking.
