I believe Rolex uses a slate dial on the TT Sub with diamonds and rubies/sapphires. Rolex also used exotic timbers on the Day-Dates many years ago. Sorry no pictures.

The Platinum DD is a hot watch, especially with a little ice. One of my favourites
