Awesome! I have a Nikon P500 that I just purchased. I'm trying to take pictures like the first shot, where the head of the watch is sharp, and everything else in the shot is kind of blurry. How did you do that? I'm kind of familiar with ISO settings and shutter speeds...

Research depth of field and aperture settings.

What you're looking for is bokeh.

The portrait setting will often yield the desired effect, but aperture priority or manual are the best ways to get the best results.
