My 36mm Plat DD feels more 'dense' than my all gold GMT and Daytona, but in terms of 'weight', there is little appreciable difference between them. The DSSD is a beast, that wears to uncomfortably for me as the weight distribution isn't right for me, whereas the DD feels great.
I'm now so use to the weight of my gold and plat models that my SS models seem featherlight and unsubstantial ... :( |

You get used to it. I can hardly tell between my PT DD II and my Citizen.

Funny this was posted, because I just had a conversation with a colleague about the weight of platinum watches yesterday. I've never tried one on but now I have to see what all the fuss is about. In general, the heavier the watch the better, IMO. I have found you get used to it quickly and miss the weight when it's not there.

Plat DD is probably not something you will wear every day. Pull the trigger and save it for work or for evenings out. Then it will be a real treat when you wear it. Surely there is something else you can find to wear at other times. Personally, GMT is the daily wear and the DD is something I reserve for nights out, etc. Then I really appreciate the extra weight.

work-boots, loafers, sneakers - we can wear them all! The heaviest thing about platinum is the price-tag.

Platinum, the Rich Man's Gold.
I love PT beyond measure.

Thanks Guys :). Actually it DOES feel different in a BIG way wearing it over on the other side.I guess because I use my right arm more. You guys with the Platinum DDII have my utmost respect. I can't imagine wielding another 10-20 grams around without being in the on deck circle lol. Cheers -Ron

From my experiences wearing large and or heavy watches -- ensuring that the fit of the bracelet -- the correct snugness if you will -- is achieved. Otherwise the weight will move it about when ever you raise/lower your arm and or through athletic endeavors. Once fitted so it moves less -- comfort is achieved.

Quite possible. I wear mine slightly loose but it doesn't move all over the place. Check out this vid of Placido Domingo and look how loose his is!! Cheers -Ron http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m70j63-hr0

Great vid Ron, thanks for sharing.
I wear mine slightly loose too and as you say, it doesn't move around much. Even in the vid, loose as it was Placido Domingo's watch seemed to dutifully sit there. |

Love the precious metals but after a looong day the classic stainless steel feels the best to me I love to wear the gold and platinum only on special occassions and or 8-10 hours at a time after that it does get a little heavy and uncomfortable. But I am older now so could just be that lol..either way love the precious metals love them...
