Ceramic Omega Speedy 9300 anyone?
Now that is a design I can get behind. I highly suspect the price will be rather steep though... More details now available at http://www.ablogtowatch.com/baselwor...-of-the-moon/# |

But knowing how OMEGA does in the used market, you should be able to score one of these for significantly less in a few years. I like it.

Should we start guessing price? Certainly more than $10,000, I assume.

"Materials-wise, this is one high tech extravaganza of a watch. The headline feature, of course, is the black ceramic used extensively on this watch, including the case, case-back and chronograph pushers. The dial is in black zirconium oxide ceramic with two blackened sub-dials. Case size is 44.25mm, and the applied indexes are white gold, while the red-tipped chronograph hand is rhodium plated."

I think it is a very nice looking Speedmaster, with cal 9300 and all. But at 44 mm it is too big for my taste.

like i said in the other thread:
purists will grumble, the 9300 is too thick and the backside engraving is silly, but, d*mn, that's a hot looking watch. |

It does look nice, but somehow I prefer the IWC Top Gun Ceramic.

All in all, I think this was one of the better releases at Basel 2013.

I'm digging the red stiching on the inside of the strap. Kind of a secret only the wearer knows, like the inside lining of of a tailor made hat.

I love it. I'm also very curious to see the new 57' speedy with the 9300 movement at only 42mm too!

This watch is way oversized for my tastes, but it is so freakingly awesome I want one in the absolute way. Saved by the fact that I probably will not be able to justify the price. So, so, so well done. Best release of 2013 so far.
