Touch ups on gold bracelet - what to use?

Can anyone tell me the best products to use to touch up the brushed and polished gold surfaces on a President bracelet? I've heard Scotch Brite, but I think that was for SS, and would probably be way too abrasive on 18K gold.

Thanks!

Scotch Brites come in different "grits" but you are right. Gold is much softer than Stainless and one must be very careful when brushing it's surface.

There are some excellent nylon fiber pencils available for light touchup of small areas and any jewelers rouge cloth will take care of polished areas.

Try the Cape Cod polishing cloth....

to polish the gold. Don't get it near brushed steel as it will be polished too.
Bed Bath and Beyond sell them.

Do not use Scotch Brite on gold.

Larry, Phillip, Where would I find the nylon fiber pencils? I would use these on the brushed gold surfaces? And is cape cod cloth the same as rouge cloth? And this would be for the polished (mirror) gold surfaces?

Thanks very much for the help!

Search for a Bergeon fibreglass pen. Tape up the whole surrounding area because the fibres get EVERYWHERE and will scratch the bracelet a lot ! I paid £13 for mine and it really does work for a quick fix. Alternative to that would be a refinish with a proper procedure which will cost a fortune !!

I'd leave it as-is, unless it looks terrible. In that case, I'd pay someone who knows what they're doing.

I don't know how it compares to a rouge cloth.
The Cape Cod cloth is for polished gold.

If you try to make it perfect it will only pick up another scratch a couple of days later. I'm fully supportive if this is the way you want to go but if you ask me it'll never be perfect, at most for a few days if you wear the watch daily. I'd also agree with thinking twice about doing it myself. Whenever I hear of people thinking of going down that road it always reminds me of Fr. Ted and the time he noticed the small dent in the car.... Link below.
