Hi guys,

If I go into a silent room I can hear my Explorer II making a slight humming noise.
If I put the watch to my ear I can hear the ticking, and when it gets about half way around the ticking noise changes from a more solid tick to a hollow tick, its then that I can hear a very slight humming, like the type of noise you get from a tuning fork.

Anyone else get this? Is it normal

If it only happens when you move your watch, it might be the rotor scraping past the metal bridges, or the case back... This will happen when the rotor axle is either broken, or badly worn. The way to check if that's the case, is by holding the case firmly between thumb(on case back) and index finger(on crystal) and then shake the watch up and down by your ear. If you hear a ticking noise, like something is loose in there, you have a problem... If you feel something moving, but can't really hear it, you're fine!

Perfectly normal....All my watches hum....even more so when put on a wooden surface...It seems to resinate the sound of the movement....Just wonderful

Doesn't Vanessa work on watches for a living? How come nobody noticed this post? Seems more serious to me.
