How much would an AD go down in price on a two-tone submariner?

I'm looking to buy one and I've heard some conflicting reports about this. Would appreciate some input.

Varies from AD to AD...best bet is to ask for yourself. Typically, though, TT will get more of a discount than steel.

Assuming I've bought from this AD about three times (two Rolex) what could you guess? I'll ask myself as well tomorrow

Insanely expensive. Especially when OP is from Europe.

Probably better to go with a trusted seller here. That said 18-21% is probably good from an AD

Easier to ask for the discount you'd like rather than the discount you think they would give you.

Anchoring during negotiations is a great tactic. Just have a number you are willing to spend and don't spend over that number, even if it means walking out without a watch.

25 percent in Canada off two tone or I'd pass. Not sure about your neck off the woods.

Because TRF sellers are insanely expensive to European buyers. This dead horse has been beaten to death so many times already.

The best way to find out is to go visit an AD . And ask for yourself

2 Tone Bluesy Sub C Sunburst BNIB ... In Late
May 2015 from a US AD...

I wanted to touch it

Good luck.

The OP doesn't mention which TT Sub - and that can have some influence on demand. The new Bluesy would get less discounted than its brother black dialed TT methinks.
And now that you have a dozen more conflicting reports I'm certain you have your answer: IDOTS - It Depends On The Situation.

Very interested. I see the BNIB rate from trusted TRF sellers @ about $10,200. Do you guys think you could get that, or lower from an AD out the door for the 116613 (black dial)? I have a hard time believing an AD could go lower than say David SW.

For that specific watch I would not buy at an AD considering multiple big name trusted dealers are selling them brand new or even close to new for 10-10.5! Save your money and go through someone like DavidSW, Sohais, Lee2375, Justrolexes etc... Anyone of these guys will do right! I paid under $10k and mine came with stickers all over, 5 year warranty, full set and I even got to put my name on the card! Goodluck!

David gets those bnib pieces from ADs and turns a profit so yes, ADs can match or beat that if you have a good relationship

VAT free good relationship price for a bluesy is around 8000USD from Europe. That's 9920USD w/ VAT.

OP has to pay VAT when bought from the US, so DavidSWs "great price" is 13485 + shipping to Europe, call it 14000.

Still worth buying from TRF?

LN or LB? Big difference, though in either case it depends on how long it's been sitting. The blue dial has a niche cult following. The LN not so much because the GMT is also available in gold and stainless steel two tone.

He was talking about Europeans shopping here in dollars. Not the discount portion
