That truffle risotto was super good -- only one I've had recently that could compare would be Bottega in Napa !!

Simply...The Wine Thread

For those Bordeaux lovers out there -- and - or anyone looking for another GREAT wine to try -- sort of off the radar --SERIOUSLY look at the Leoville Poyferre -- I knew that it was going to be good when I ordered it -- but it was SPECTACULAR. (And this one was a second growth!!!)

you KNOW that you picked great wines when the somm comes by the table and says...I hope that the food was as good as the wine selections!!! (He knew the answer) but I thought that was a good line!!!

Saturday night. Fun food, good wine, Rock music.
Rock's Proscuitto & Zucchini Quiche, Barwang 2007 Cab Sav, Deep Purple in Rock, Stones "Tattoo You", Moody Blues "To Our Children's Children's Children."

I was a bit sceptical as to how the Barwang would open as I have cellared Barwang previously and been disappointed, but this vintage is a ripper and is full of flavour and interest. From the Hilltops region of New South Wales.

As a big Gaja fan, I'm quite certain Sito Moresco is a nebbiolo and blend not a Barbaresco

Great choice though

Hey guys, just thought I'd post up here. I've been collecting since about 2008 and have mostly Cali, but some Champagne, Bordeaux, Rhone & Spanish. Schrader, Bevan, SQN, Realm, Saxum, Bedrock, Carlisle, Fairchild, Turley, Rhys, Peter Michael, Aubert kind of stuff mostly in the cellar. Love large format, that's mostly what I've been buying recently.

I've hired some guys to organize my cellar(the shelves were full, so it was up to my neck in boxes in the middle) and I realize I've got way way too much stuff to ever drink in my children's lifetime so I gotta either get to drinking or get to selling. :)

If I can find someone that would trade watches for cult cabs I'd be in business! :)
