Nah, APs are just not for me. I've tried to like them, but much to my savings account good fortune, they are not my cup of tea. My current favorite "big watch" is the Omega 9300 POC (but in titanium). Had the SS version first, but it was too heavy to be comfortable for extended use. Then tried the titanium and was hooked (even though I've never been a Ti fan prior). But alas, for me, I think 42mm is definitely the sweet spot. I'm not kidding in that if Rolex actually produced one, I would FINALLY have my perfect, all-around watch. ![]() |

Wrong... you might be tall and judging by your comments maybe obese since no human bone is that thick unless you're a Neanderthal. I have bodybuilder friends ranging from 5'10" to 6'9" and we all share similar sizes of clothing except pants obviously. Human since the 1700s have only increased 2to3 inches for both sexes. The average male wrist is 7" and if you're outside of that range you can go buy a yachtmaster ii or DSSD. Point being, you're outside of the normal bell curve for body mass, end of story. I will happily wear a 42mm SD or a 40mm Sub anyday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Bigger people, bigger cars, bigger watches. See the pattern?

And check CDC stats...aver US male has gone from mid 160 lbs to almost 200 lbs from 1960's to today...that's a 30 lbs swing in only 50 years! Height is also over 1" gain. Break those #'s into %'s and it's a HUGE difference in aver male size from when the original SD was debuted to today. As I mentioned much earlier in this thread, my (apparently obese) body could have competed in the NFL back in the 60's...today, I would be lucky to be a punter. And I haven't simply speculated on the merits & flaws of the Sub, SD, DSSD (as so many on forums tend to do), I've actually experienced them all (multiple times & for multiple years). Hell, I didn't take my first DSSD off my wrist from 2008-2011. None of them are "perfect" for me. Sub/SD at 40mm a tad too small, DSSD a tad too big (not necessarily due to the 44mm, but the 19mm thickness). So I'll keep the hope alive that THIS is the year my 42mm Rolex diver wish is answered. If it is, I'll no doubt celebrate with a dozen donuts, 2 gallons of soda and M&Ms for dessert! You know, just so I can keep up my fighting weight! ![]() |

And lets be real...NOBODY knows bodybuilders that are over 5'6" tall. We all know why they became bodybuilders...for the same reason all those "vertically challenged" dudes lift their pickups over 10". It's all about over compensating for at least one thing that's too small (if not multiple things...

Guys, please, don't get nasty. This has been a really interesting thread, it would be a shame for it to get locked!

In the end these are only watches...38, 40, 42, 44, 50+mm...none of it really matters. Wear what you love and don't worry about what others think. (unless they don't like cyclop on a SD)! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think the image Rolex has posted is of the back of a case that has not been finished yet, looks a bit bulbus and grainey, they may put up posts in various finishing images until final post. Just my thoughts. John

On purely technical merit however that Leica will have a much better lens, and in photography (above a certain level in digital) it's really all about the glass ![]()

Historically speaking does anyone have any idea how fast the new launches will be at the AD's?
