Thanks ladies My nephews seem to think I'm a great uncle. I have a blast with them and pretty much let them have their way with me.

I assembled the crib for the nursery yesterday and the glider and ottoman a few days ago... I'm very pleased with the result!

I clearly have no class. I can't get into that scotch thing no matter how hard I try. I'm a boring old wine drinker...although today I tried a Ginger Beer and dark rum and it was quite pleasant!!!!

Ain't life grand. Enjoy every minute, hour, day, week, year.....trust me on this; it is worth all the love and effort. Wish I could be around when the monster is in college. It will be a ride and in the end a rewarding trip.

Make a deal with your husband... since baby is a girl, you get first pick at a name. Any future children, he can have first pick. Ya think?

I tried that line yesterday... didn't work! I even threw in "but I'm the one carrying this child for 9 months, and I'm the one going thru the surgery, and pain" but that didn't fly either... he just laughed and said "that ain't gonna work with me!"

This is a toughie. And I guess it's already been established that you're not having twins. One for each name. Honestly, it's funny that your husband is so involved in the naming! Mine was kind of like, "whatever you like is okay with me." Luckily, though, we did have the same tastes in what we wanted.

What I have always done is the wife picks a boy's (first) name and I pick a girl's (first) name. We then have to agree on the middle name, but it must be a family name. Worked for me all these years. Sometimes you get names that don't flow as well. Take out youngest daughter. Hope Samantha MXXXXX. I like it and we call her SAM.

You could do like they do in judging competitive sports;
Throw out the high and low scores and average the middle.

Throw out yours and his respective most and least favorites and pick from the remainder.
In the end it really doesn't matter. My wife liked the name "Ethan". Everyone wrinkled their noses at the time.
Naturally I thought of the historic figure Ethan Allen and was OK with it, though I never would have thought of it myself.
Now, no-one thinks twice about the name, though several people thought they should express their opinions before he was born.

We had trouble agreeing on names as well (my top name each time got a lukewarm response from him). My husband's solution was to name each child with my top pick, and then let him have full discretion with the middle name (assuming it wasn't something weird like "poptart"). We actually named my son, Max (Maximilian) when I was in labor, because we hadn't decided on a boy's name yet, and thought it was going to be a girl.

After all was said and done, hubby loved both names, and did come up with some nice middle names as well. Madeline's middle name is my first name, and Max's middle name is my FIL's.

Now, that is way more information than you probably wanted or needed to know!

We are not going for a middle name at all... We both like the fact that neither one of us have one ourselves.
