Does this make me a bad person

Well went Christmas shopping well the wife did so I decided to go into the ad and have a look. As we are all saying at the moment no sports at all so got chatting and I ordered a GMT BLNR to justify this to my wife (she has no interest in watches) I said that it was getting discontinued or should I say the ad said it was getting discontinued. Please make me feel better

Lying to your wife is essential or suicidal depending on how you see your marriage.

Make sure to hide it well so that the divorce attorney can't find it.

i would say essential, when it comes to shoes I think I'm just as naive on what she tells me how much they cost.

I’m pretty sure Christian Luoboutin’s (or whatever brand she is buying) don’t cost $8000-10,000 a pair! Sounds like a deal for you...

Does this make me a bad person

I can remember a friend of mine (when i was racing motorcycles) saying to me it’s a worry that if he ever died his wife would sell his bikes for what he told her he’d paid for them.....know that feeling well

Bending the truth is not so bad

Here let me help. You kinda did tell the truth, one day that WILL be discontinued. Or this, that particular watch that you ordered will be discontinued once you buy it because that particular one will no longer be available for sale.

I prefer to call them alternative facts.

Liar is such an ugly word.

You tell her it'll be phased out sooner as opposed to later and will be a lifetime piece....OR something along those lines. In my case I find it easier to ask for forgiveness than permission; something to that effect :)

If you get caught out tell her you were a victim of fake news. It seems to work for others

My wife calls me crazy because if I'm ever caught, and I use that word loosely. I say I changed my mind, I didn't lie. I don't think that will work in your case partner. This is somewhat the truth, just tell her its an investment in YOUR future. Good luck

Well, you deceived her. But I think what you were implying is that with this Rolex model you will be getting your money back or most of it, if you choose to resell. You didn’t make an $8,000+ purchase, you made a $200 purchase.

If Rolex announces at Baselworld they will equip the GMT II with new movements in 2018, you could tell your wife you were right — they were discontinued. But I predict that Rolex with “older” movements will drop in value. That’s why right now is the worst time to buy a new Rolex.

Just tell her the truth. Take the lick up front and you can enjoy the watch guilt free. Book a weekend to her favorite locale, schedule her some spa time and all will be copacetic. Works that way at my house.

You are a filthy human being, and in the interest of easing your conscience, and your passage toward righteousness, I think you should gift it to me as some kind of penance.................just thinking out loud.....

First of all, recommend no lies if you love your wife. Secondly, BLNR is an investment, with prices going up, it's money well spent. If necessary, you can cash it quickly. Take this angle rather then making stupid lies.

Haha what motorcycles don’t “appreciate” like watches do?

OR

“I got an amazing deal! Paid $10k (actually paid $22k) but the bike is worth $19k”. Boom, problem solveD, Except for the whole dying thing, that I can’t help your buddy with.
