Christmas incoming

Back in the Seiko diver fold -- and automatic for that matter. I'd sold off everything, only keeping my beater Casio and the Oceanus that I love, but received this gem (SKX013) for Christmas (my first SKX no less).

I prefer smaller watches, but I was def struck at first by how diminutive this one is. (I've already gotten used to the 41mm Oceanus.) Really nice on the wrist, and glad it's not the larger cousin given my wrist size.

Very pleased, especially on the one-piece Perlon.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday!

Very nice strap! I’ve never seen the 013 in person, but I like the 007 and 009 size on my 6.5 inch wrist. Seikos seem to wear smaller than their stated size, generally.

Enjoy your new watch! It’s classic.

Thanks. Perlon straps are great (and cheap).

I agree many Seiko divers wear small, which I think is what semi-surprised me about this one seeming smaller than a usual 37mm. My wrist is about the same size as yours, but I don't dig bigger watches, so the larger SKX models wouldn't work for me. Glad you're happy with them though, and I'm really glad Seiko is still making the various sizes and options.

I agree with your assessment that small is beautiful!

I walked around with a 44mm Panerai for a couple of years before I accepted that it was way too big for me. For me, 38-39 for a dress watch and 40 for a sports watch is my sweet spot, depending on the lug width, bezel and how the watch wears. But I do shy away from big watches now. I think that trend is over.

Congratulations!

I actually prefer my 013 over the 007, it is such a nice little diver Got mine for Christmas as well, 4 years ago.

It's a bummer they're hard to find. I bought it sight unseen, but as you can tell, I'm not disappointed. Good luck!

(As an aside, that price seems a bit high to me.)
