TT Daytona on a leather strap... What do you think?

I have really wanted a watch with a leather strap for a while now. Instead of buying a whole new watch, I am thinking of picking up a Hirsch leather strap.

I want to know what you guys think of my watch (pictured near my user name) with this hirsch "leonardo" band in light brown.

As we all know the Daytona will have a large gap if you use any ordinary strap, but the Hirsch strap is unique where it is curved near the lugs.

The only problem I have is that the buckle only comes in steel. Would any other buckles fit this strap?

Thanks for the help in advance guys its always appreciated.

I agree - the leather strap will look great .....it'll be like wearing a totally different watch. Get a couple of different straps for different looks..............xclnt!

Changing the buckle is as easy as changing the strap. I think you would need an 18mm buckle for that particular strap.

Why change the buckle? You already have a TT, so the buckle will match one half of the watch!!!

I was deciding the same thing! Today I was checkin online for a light brown band for a friend and I suggested the Hirsch Leonardo strap for his TT Daytona - I sent him the link and am pretty sure he's going to get it. I say book it!!! And post some pics on here with the final result - good luck solo!

That TT Daytona is going to look beautiful with a leather strap , don't forget to post some pictures when you're ready.

IMO it will look fine. There is nothing to lose in this investment.

Some of the Daytonas come from Rolex with a leather strap.

Perhaps it is just me, but I think all Rolex sport watches look best on the factory bracelet. Cheers, Bill P.

The problem is Hirsch has an ugly steel buckle, I will try to get a gold aftermarket buckle (similar to the older tang type Rolex buckles)

Bill I absolutely agree with you, but this will just be a project if it looks great I will wear it here and there but I will never disown my beloved Oyster bracelet!
