i would be more comfortable being in Ukraine than flying over it. Where you would be going would be fine most likely

Have been to Kiev for work a number of times, really beautiful city and seemed very safe. There are lots of high-end shops for watches etc., but prices are high.

Like any big city, exercise discretion and you'll be fine.

FWIW, I never travel anywhere with an expensive watch, as it is hard to be sure you will always have a safe when going to the gym and I have a fear of losing my watch at airport security.
