Help apprising this vintage daytona

A watch boutique has on display what they claim as one of the earliest Paul Newmans. According to them, everything's original except for the band.
The face looks too shiny and of crystal, shouldn't it be an acrylic from those years?

Seems they haven't been able to decide how much to ask for it, no price sticker yet. Any guess what would be a good price to offer?

Do you care if they allow you back in? If yes, it’s going to be a stout figure. If no, low ball them with a cash offer?
Asking for a “value” on a watch of this nature with a single photo and scant details is essentially impossible because you are posting a watch where one reference example sold for 15million and other PN examples run the gamut from what seems 60k to 500k.
I don’t want to discourage you from possibly obtaining it; but w a watch like posted, the onus of establishing the price on the tag should fall on the seller.

ya I agree, the details are a bit scant. i could probably have asked more or got a few more shots.
anyway the seller of course know their stuff and will be able to come up with a price tag soon.
i was just wondering if the _buyer_ has some bargaining ground in case an aggressive restoration compromised the originality.
