Rolex Day Date 1803, help

Hello, i’m Alex, and i live in Italy (so, sorry for my bad English!).
I’m interesting to buy this Day Date 1803 from an watch shop in my town.
The watch is without box and papers, came only with 2 years warranty from the shop.
Can anyone tell me if the watch is all correct and genuine?
Thank you so much.
Alex

If you have to ask then I would not buy it. Best advice is to find a trusted shop and buy a piece from them. Ask around and find a second hand dealer that has a good reputation. Vintage can be very dangerous for a novice.

I think the forum is actually very useful for questions like this.

The date wheel has the number 7 off center and at the top of the date window. Might want to change the date and watch it to ensure it centers properly. I would not accept it the way it is - if all the days were off center like that. It’s easy to fix and a component watchmaker should have caught that.

Good luck. And yes.... the forum is here to help people like you and me with questions like these.

Thanks to everyone!
The shop that sell this watch is an historical watchmaker in my town, and work with watches since 60 years.
So, I seem to have understood that the watch is all genuine, but in past was badly polished.
I’ve another question: a watch like this, is a delicate watch? The movement Rolex 1556, being an old movement, is unreliabe? If it broke, there are replacement parts?
I’ve other daily watches, so this would be only an “important occasion watch”.
Sorry for my bad english. :-(

Perhaps not bad but it could have been done better
