Major phishing on WTB posts

Is it me or is there tons of phishing/scamming/scamming when it comes to WTB posts?...I posted a WTB last night and I already got 2 scammers who sent me bogus links to their "ads"...
The first was PatC and the second was Ststep857
I guess posting a WTB is not the way to go....or I guess I need to screen these people before I answer their PM's.

I’m not sure there is a solution. If you want someone to respond then eventually you’re going to have to click a link, or click a photo attachment to see what they are offering.

Another way to approach this is to PM some of the most trusted sellers here and see if their sources can come up with what you seek.

DavidSW, justrolexes, Takuya, Sohais and others can help better than random shots in the dark.

It's a minefield.

It is possible to clamp the whole section down, such as it would be far smaller and far more secure.

It's also possible to close the section down completely, safer still.

At present, it is policy to leave as is and try to be reactive to the scumbags who happily accept other members' passwords thoughtlessly offered, and those new members with those damn links in their PMs.

In a word, minefield.

Good comments,...thank you.
Another solution, but maybe not a good one would be to restrict the ability to PM someone until they have a certain number of posts, but that might be too restrictive...?

Well, now that I received the third fake offer from new members with little or no posting history, I’ve decided to start a list....please see here:
