Yacht-Master 16622 Platinum
It seems like the later 16622 models like the Z series has a more raised inner bezel and sloping rather than flat. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yacht-Master 16622 Platinum bezel
The insert/inner bezel of my YM 16622 looks a lot more raised from the outer bezel than other people's YM? Is it because this is a Z series and others may have different series? Any Z-series YM 16622 owners right here?

I'm thinking it's just the glare and your eyes playing tricks on you. This is the same watch, 6 years apart. Mine is a K serial number 16622, 2001.

Rolex doesn't make a "series" of watches. Z is simply a serial number prefix; slight cosmetic differences can occur at any point in a model release.

The first one is Z series. The one below is a D. Doesn't the D's bezel look flatter and the insert of the Z looks raised from the outer bezel compared to the D?

I still wonder why it is different. The insert for the Z series seems to be more lifted from the outer bezel as compared to the D series. Strangely, when I look at Z series 16622 they seem to be somehow the same.

I could not seem to get a proper answer from the Rolex Service Center.

The local RSC could not seem to help with the cosmetic difference. I do not feel quite right being an odd one out from the intended design.

It’s a press fit bezel insert and it’s a known fact the bezel inserts are slightly different during the watches evolution. I can’t see a problem with your insert. If it is raised slightly then it’s no different to many others and mine looks same as yours so I wouldn’t worry about it.
You don’t have a defective watch. |
