Wow, this is such a disappointing situation. You have always gushed about how much you love your AD, and I'm sure you have sent a lot of business their way. The fact that they lied about your employee's turnaround time for his clasp is just the cherry on top. I hope this gets resolved and every effort is made to retain your loyalty.

One other thing I have taken away is what a great guy you are. I very much appreciate your attitude and appreciation for your employees. This comes at a great time for me. My boss recently told me that I am too nice to our colleagues. Not even just my subordinates... too congenial toward everyone as a whole. He said I will never advance far if I am not more closed off and "sincere." I told him that it is out of character for me to behave that way, and that I wouldn't want to advance if it means compromising my values. That whole conversation has really been weighing on me. Thank you for reminding me that success can come without treating those around you poorly. If ever you are looking to hire an MBA student/accountant who wants to pivot to an operations role, let me know. You seem like my kind of boss
