Upgrade rolex dial on datejust
I have a Dj with the grey tapestry dial. I thinking of replacing on the dial with a different color. What color would you recommend? I'm thinking black.

Upgrade is a funny word that I often find means downgrade.
Gray tapestry sounds like a wonderful dial? Let’s see a pic.

Idk about DJs, but on DDs, the gray/slate tapestry dial seems pretty rare - I’ve had my eye out for one for a while now. If they are similarly uncommon on DJs, I might recommend that you acquire a dial and have this done by an independent (if at all) rather than RSC, so you can retain your dial.
If you want to radically change it up, I think the no-markers stone DJ dials are super clean and sharp looking (especially tiger eye and malachite). |

Let me know what you think? I am thinking of getting a DD WG in white dial roman. Perhaps I should leave it alone. However I dunno what I am doing to do with 2 watches that are similar. I do like the the president bracelet that is why I am considering getting a 118239.

I’d keep it as is. That’s a great dial!

That's guys for liking the dial! I find it dated but I'll leave it and try to find a 118239 in WG.

I'm looking to change my Wimbledon dial out to white Roman as well. First ad said they couldn't do that as watch has to be out of warranty

I just called the RSC and they said they can change dial out, but only with basic stick colors (blue, white, or black). Such a bummer...I will be selling mine. Let me know if anyone's interested!

I have an SS DJ41 with the slate roman (wimbledon) dial and love it. My second choice is the black dial for a GADA piece.

That's a classic I don't know if I would change it but blue DJ dials are beautiful.

As others have suggested, purchase a second dial and keep the original. May cost a bit more in the short term, but I think you will be happier in the long run. Post another pic if you go ahead with the dial swap. Good luck! |

I believe Rolex will change dials only if the new dial that you want was originally an option when the watch was first purchased.
I learned this when I serviced my 12-year old Milgauss GV and asked if I could swap dials to new blue dial and they said I couldn't. However, I also serviced my 8-year old, Datejust 41 recently and managed to change the silver stick dial to the blue stick version. |

Grey tapestry is a premium specialty dial. If you change. Keep the old one.

The Blue Azzuro Roman Dial is unbelievable when you see it in person.
