Updating models waitlist shift?
Hello everyone,
I don't know if this question has been asked before in the forum, but here I go bringing it up (again if at all). Let's say I "sign up" for a waitlist on the ceramic Sub 114060 in September 2020 at my local AD in Madrid. Let's also assume Rolex actually updates the model like it is being said by many, say in November 2020. That means, they should already be producing the newer version by September 2020. If my local AD gives me a call in November/December 2020, should I be expecting the model I "signed up" for (114060) or should I be expecting the newer version since it has already been released? In other words: does Rolex overlap sales of two versions of the same model when it gets updated? Thanks all for any info you can provide! Best, P. |

Most likely the one you inquired about. The waitlist for the new models, whatever they may be, is going to be ridiculous.

What does your AD say?

I guess you are too serious about the so called list.
If your AD likes you, they will call you and ask if you want it once they have one in stock, regardless of new or old model, or what you requested before. |

Updating models waitlist shift?
Last year, RUSA asked domestic ADs to drop the practice of keeping a list publicly. In other words, stop raising the hopes of average prospective buyers.
Now I’m sure lists didn’t die. They just went deep and are for whales only. This was likely always the case. It’s why buying a $50K PM could get you want you wanted quicker than lounging around with all the other “list lizards”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I don’t think there is a formal process although I proposed this question to my AD early this year when I put a deposit down for my Z-Blue Milgauss.
Before the world fell apart, there were rumors of the Milgauss being discontinued/updated yada yada... The estimated delivery for my watch was the end of March which would have been approaching Basel 2020. If the watch was discontinued and they were not allocated another remaining stock, I would be refunded obviously. My concern was if they updated the model aesthetics and I had not been allocated my piece, would I have the option to change my order to the latest model. The SA initially said NO, but after telling a sob story she said I would get their first allocation IF it were updated lol I took it with a grain of salt because I think they were pretty confident in their eta and were not worried about fulfilling the commitment. I ended up getting my watch first week of March before everything went on lockdown. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My dealer keeps lists, really. I wasn’t on it but out of curiosity I asked if the list for the Oyster BLNR would transfer over to the new Jubilee version automatically when it came out. The answer was no....mostly. A few VIP’s would be asked if they wanted the new one instead but the less important clients down further would have to start over.

Depends on the AD. Generally, if they update the watch and you haven't received yours, you're screwed. Back to the back of the much, much longer line you go.
