I need bracelet link advice

I have 2 submariners with the glidelock clasp. My wrist must be a bit smaller this summer as a had the glidelocks on the smallest setting and both watches would be slightly loose at times during the day. With plenty of adjustments in the bracelet I decided to have a link removed from each. On Saturday I stopped by my AD and had it done. Yesterday I noticed the bracelet was a little uncomfortable on the large wrist bone below the thumb. I noticed it again today and took it of to see what was up. I didn’t notice this Saturday. The AD shortened the short side of the bracelet. Now the clasp is riding on this bone. As you can see there are 4 links on one side and 8 on the other.

Is this just a mistake by the AD or is there a reason that the one side needs the extra links?IMG_2272.jpg

That’s a mistake. 4-6 is okay but 4-7 is too lopsided. Just go back and tell them to move one from 12 to 6 so the clasp is closer to center.

Also, I ended up getting my own set of tools to make the adjustments myself. Last AD adjustment the AD made they butchered one of the screws on my sub. I’ll adjust it myself from now on.

Typically people wear their bracelets with the 12 oclock side of the bracelet slightly longer than the 6 oclock side in terms of creating the most comfortable feel and look of the watch while on the wrist. If that would solve your situation here, all that's needed is to simply have one or more links transferred from the longer 12 oclock side (based on your photo) to the other side. Problem solved :-) .. in addition you can also make any "micro adjustments" via the glidelock on the clasp itself as well. This may take some trial and error on your part to find the right combination/set up but its not hard to do..

I agree. move the links so that the clasp centered. if it is correct when the clasp is closed and you hold the clasp horizontal on your fingertips the case is also hanging horizontal below it.
This is how I always adjust my bracelets and they are alway comfortable this way. I suppose that there are other wrist sizes and shapes that would work differently but for my 8.25" wrist which is kind of wide and flat this seems to be the best adjustment.

Thanks for the advise. I looked up the tools needed on this forum and ordered from Esslinger last night. Should be here Thursday.

Sometimes AD's don't know how to size anything. Definitely wrong. Should be 5/7. Glad you got your own tools. I hope the screw driver you got is the hollow ground tip from esslinger
