How do you pay at the AD

Amex, personal check, cashier’s check, wire or cold hard cash?

Credit card. You don't want to be lugging around that much cash at any given time imo :)

Credit card to get points/money back.

If you pay cash for big amount of money like that, you have to sign some document to show the source of that money.

Three of my Rolex watches from my AD were paid for with cash (14060M, 116200 63600, and 116710BLNR).

The other (114270) was paid for with a cashier's check.

I paid cash for two Tudor watches (THC and BB36) and a Frederic Constant (Peking to Paris Chronograph).

I have paid cash for all the watches I have bought from my used dealer.

There’s no benefit of paying in cash to an AD. It means someone has to take it to the bank which carries another set of risks!!

When I was living in Spain you couldn't use more than around 2500 euros in physical cash I think it was, due to money laundering laws. So you had to use a debit card, credit card, or a wire transfer was also an option also if I'm not mistaken. I would use an Amex card that got me travel points which I would then redeem for travel. Nothing sweeter than a free trip as the bonus perk of getting the Rolex you wanted.

I'm jk I would be nervous too, but there is a bank branch literally in the same building as my AD, and in the area there is virtually no crime.

Unless a store is going to give me a cash discount I always use credit card to get travel points.

Plat cards add warranty to some products like electronics but I wasn't aware it applied to watches

I got rid of mine a couple years ago. The annual fee hikes were not worth the benefits.
