Incoming! - First Rolex
Hello all. Super excited for my first Rolex. the Explorer!

I had originally wanted a Date Sub as I’ve always loved dive watches and previously owned a Seamaster. It felt like the natural step, so I put my name down at an AD a few months back. While waiting however, I began to notice the Explorer. Before I knew it, I was thinking about this watch 24/7 looking at every photo and video of it I could find. When I came to the realization that I actually liked it more than the Sub, I contacted my AD early August and told them about my change of heart. 3 weeks later, AD called, and the watch is mine. Couldn’t be happier for my first Rolex.

214270 was my first Rolex too.
Now I have a Sub date and would like a new 214270 back on my wrist.

Congrats!

My story is nearly identical to yours.....to the point that I just picked up my first Rolex (214270) today as well. It looks better in person than photos, and the size its perfect. It looks classy, sporty, and understated all at once. It will get 100% of wrist time for the near future.

I did see a Grand Seiko snowflake (SBGA211) while I was there, and it looked pretty amazing as well.....

Very cool! Congrats! I totally agree about this watch looking better in person than photos. The way the matte black dial handles different light is just awesome. Cheers.
