Rolex Daytona bezel not alligned perfectly

Hello online friends

Have a question for you all


Bought this black ceramic Daytona from my AD who is an official rolex boutique about 2 months ago.



Now the other day I noticed that the bezel seems to be not perfectly alligned, I'm referring to the 60 not being perfectly straight about the Rolex crown logo. I compared it to my panda one and there it is good. Am I just being anal about this or a minor case of OCD but this is driving me crazy.



Should I go back to the store and demand another one or for it to be fixed? And if so how long will I be parted from my watch?

Well, the 60 is definitely not in the right position I believe the bezel is just pushed on so if yours has turned may need a new bezel because that one could fall off next and be lost so take it in should still be in warranty.

That’s definitely off. Take it in to be repaired as for a watch of that price it should be perfect. What’s up with Rolexes quality control. Making me worry about when I get mine.

Oh so you believe it might have turned while being worn for example? Interesting...

And is it worth asking for a completely different watch, or will a repair be the best I get? Have a pretty good relation with the store, just checking what could be possible?

If you got both SS Daytonas from this AD, you are a very lucky person! That said, I too would get that fixed. I think it is unreasonable to ask for a new watch, as mistakes can be easily corrected. But that would bother me once I noticed it. <phew! Just checked mine, lol>

I can't imagine it's a big deal, and if I had a white one, I wouldn't fret about it being gone for a bit. FWIW, my Daytona had an issue where the timing second hand would sometimes pause or stop around the 60 second mark. I dropped it off at the Beverly Hills RSC when in L.A. on vacation. They shipped it to PA where they work on Daytonas and I got it back, serviced, and fixed for free 12 days after dropping it off.

So hopefully it won't be gone long.

Wow, that’s way off. I was expecting it to be only a hair or so off center.

Definitely send it into the RSC to have it sorted. Did you buy it brand new or was in pre-owned from the boutique? I’d say two months may too far to request a brand new timepiece.

I can’t imagine you’d get a whole new watch no matter how good your relationship is with your AD. Could you even imagine the wait time to get a new one if it was even an option?

Yes I agree, but on the other hand imagine waiting that long and getting a crooked bezel?

My experience working for an AD years ago, Rolex hates to find an anomaly on a new watch and will take steps to make you feel whole as soon as you can notify them of the issue...

I bought it new, and during those two months wore it a ton has a couple scratches from desk diving.

Only reason I'd want a new one (although I don't think that is reasonable as well, getting a new one that is) is what if I keep having troubles with it?

You wrote you had the watch for two months, and you also own the same watch different dial. If you didn't notice the bezel was misaligned on the day you took it home then it must have turned because now you have noticed that it is not right. The bezel may have been correct when you purchased it so if it has moved something is wrong with the bezel and you probably need a new bezel.

Never really inspected it before tbh, just noticed now. But I'll be popping in and let them know I want it fixed...

I wouldn’t worry too much about further issues. The RSC will do a full inspection when it’s sent in for the bezel. I’d get bezel fixed and move forward by enjoying the rest of your timepieces!

You won't get new watch. This is your watch and if it has issue, it will be sent to RSC for repair and returned to you. That's about it. You can't replace a watch.

Wow, this literally hurts my eyes. You must live a happy life considering this may qualify as a (even minor) case of OCD.

Best case scenario is that this gets fixed under warranty. It’s possible they claim damaged by wearer, but that’s a hard case to make if the bezel doesn’t move. Is the bezel tight in place or is there any play (looseness) to it?

I would certainly get this fixed if it were mine.

This happened to me. My AD sent my watch (unworn) to RSC Dallas and it came back perfect.

I was only aware of Beverly Hills, Dallas and New York for official RSCs. What is this facility in Pennsylvania and are all Daytonas worked on there?

There are a number of official RSC's around the country.

The Service Center in Lititz, PA is co-located with the Rolex Technicum. Both have been operating for 20 years.

I don’t believe you can walk in. But I do believe that is where they work on Daytona’s. I think, but am not sure, that Rolex sends all Daytona’s there. Can someone confirm?
