I'm guessing gold expands/contracts much more wildly in temperature than does SS.

I definitely use 1 index finger for SS bracelets.

Cannot stand the watch sliding around on my wrist, it drives me insane, but equally not so tight that I cut off the blood circulation to my fingers.

I do not like a watch-tourniquet choking off the bloodflow to my hand, I wear mine loose enough to just slip over my wrist bone. I can get my middle finger under it up to the second joint.

I wear my heavy watches (> 200g) tight. The lighter ones are worn slightly lose (pinky between clasp and wrist.
