Tim Mosso weighs in on new Submariner debate
Tim Mosso weighed in this morning...
Full comment/review: https://youtu.be/EPzOIvIHuX4 “the new Submariner has a much more elegantly tapered case profile” “they (lugs) are a bit more spare and graceful now” |

Thanks for sharing. Never liked the 6 series fatter lugs so tend to agree the new 41 MM Sub C model looks better

Isn‘t Tim Mosso by profession automatically obliged to find new stuff that they can sell for a premium - better?
I would not care too much about what he says and from his videos, he does seldom point out negatives at all. It‘s all about the sales pitch |

11 series, 12 series Subs....
Both are great, there will always be love for both of them. I hear ridiculous things like the 11 series was a huge mistake by Rolex.....ya huge 10 year mistake with a massive demand and wait lists for them for the past 3 years. If you look at the Sub like a Porsche 911 then you see why people see the 996 as a mistake in looks for the brand. And 996 prices reflect that compared to the other generations. You'll never see a 11 series Sub selling for half as much as a 12 series is what I'm saying. Both are great and you can't go wrong with either. Sent from my SM-G975W using Tapatalk |

So, you would agree he probably said “...the new Submariner has a much more elegantly tapered case profile” because it would be construed as a positive observation and selling point. |

I do agree that he emphasises the positives at the expense of clarifying the negatives, but I do respect his knowledge of watches and he has a very good way of describing timepieces if he would just slow down!

Have to agree nothing more than click bait, but afraid today many believe everything they see on sites like youtube and so called social media.

Imagine if Rolex produced a watch that could, at any moment and without warning, literally have catastrophic movement failure! And the only way to avoid it would be to send your watch to RSC and have them install thousands of dollars of parts into your movement just to keep it from imploding. ![]() Just imagine a world where any other product could do that and the buyers would still line up in droves to buy it. I do love the 997.2 though. I would love a C4S Cabriolet. Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk |

I have a hard time understanding why he wears a mask making it difficult to hear and understand him when he is alone.

Personally I prefer the broader lugs, gives it a more masculine look. To each their own!

Bit unfair on Mosso. His company will make more money selling and trading the older model than the new one. Because, after ten years, there are far more of them available in the market. He has a vested interest in downplaying the new model. But he doesn’t.
What’s more, he repeatedly favours more obscure watches when it wouid be easier to stick to the mainstream. Are we to assume that every single person with any commercial involvement cannot be trusted? That everyone is, in some sense, corrupted? And what about members of the forum? Are we all biased because we admire Rolex? Assuming bad motives can be a slippery slope. And finally, he is surely right, the new Sub does look better. But then I’m probably biased too! |

The case may have a more elegantly tapered profile but it didn't make sense to increase the size of the bracelet and clasp. They should've left it at 20mm and figured out a way to decrease the lug size. This will be an issue for years to come.

I had the 114060 and now the 124060 and bluesy. It is amazing how much smaller the 12s wear. Rolex knew what they were doing, if they kept it at 40 it would have felt even smaller. They nailed it with the 12.

Tim Mosso weighs in on new Submariner debate
Lol Tim says this for every watch I’ve ever seen him review . They all fit 13cm Wrists . Don’t get me wrong, I highly respect his knowledge and ability to succinctly distill essential info about a watch down to a few min video. But gotta take any opinions expressed with a grain of salt as it is a sales website. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Is there a spot on the dial between the 10 & 11 o'clock indices, towards the center of the dial? Figured it was on the crystal, but he wiped it several times in that spot.
It disappeared for a moment when the second hand swept over it, leading me to think it was on the dial. Anyone else see this? Check it out at 3:58 |

Tim Mosso weighs in on new Submariner debate
The fat-lug Sub looks slightly more utilitarian. It’s a dive watch, after all!!
Nothing wrong with it, it’s just a a bit different design. As Rolex departs from that style, it will become more of a curiosity and slightly more collectible, especially for Rolex fans that will want to have all case editions. I know I will keep mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Close the thread because you don’t know who he is? Hilarious. He’s like the most knowledgeable watch person on the planet tho as some note operates under the typical sales conflict: works for a major AD for basically all brands. But his knowledge is stunning. |

I don't get it, if I don't like a topic of here....I don't click on it and surely don't waste my time responding. Tim is a walking encyclopedia, ya does he sell watches. Sure. But you can't deny his knowledge of horology. Sent from my SM-G975W using Tapatalk |

Totally — I find his vids always informative and enlightening. And because he sells virtually all brands, I don’t see any real conflict. He points out all the amazing aspects of them all. And, as ben clymer said when he faced the same criticism — essentially, ‘they’re watches! It’s all good!’ |

Never put too much faith into the opinions of those trying so sell you said things.
Also, isn’t he the guy who hired that fraud TGV? I’d say his judgment is suspect. He at least came to his senses and fired him |
